January-February 2012 Prayer Letter

January-February 2012 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastor, Church Family, and Co-laborer,

Psalms 84:11 states that “The Lord is a sun and a shield: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” We are grateful for the promises of God and for the “good things” that he gives us daily. He has truly proved himself faithful over and over again. It is a great encouragement to know that the Lord will do what he says he will do, and then to see him come through on His promises. Please keep our family in your prayers as we try to do his will while leaning on his promises.

These last couples of months have been real busy, on the road, being in prison and in churches sharing our burden. The Lord has blessed and we have seen eleven people saved in these meetings. We had at least one saved in every facility we were in and five saved in different churches. What a blessing to see God save sinners. We had two saved at Yancey County Jail this year so far, which was a real blessing because we had been going there for a while without any converts, and now we have had one saved in each of the last two services there. It seems that God is beginning to give us favor with some of the men there and that always make the services go a lot smoother. Pray for these new converts that they will continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus.

We have a lot of meetings coming up that we desire your prayers in. We will be having a revival at Western Youth Institute again. This meeting has always been very fruitful, please pray that God would bless our efforts there and that many would come to Christ. Several of the young men that are saved during this revival start coming to our weekly bible study. It’s a blessing to see these young men get a hunger for the word of God. The following week we will be leaving for Mississippi to be a part of another prison revival, at another youth facility. We are so excited to see what God is going to do in these meetings.

Please pray for Missy when you pray. She has been in and out of the hospital several times in the past couple of months with kidney stones. In January we were with Pastor Davis at Cornerstone Baptist Church when she had a severe attack of them and had to be taking out in an ambulance. The pastor and the fine people there were so gracious and helpful during all of this. Mrs. Davis even came to the hospital and helped with the kids until Missy was able to be discharged. We can never express how grateful we are to them for all they done for us during all of this. She is still having problems with them and they seem to be getting worse. We would appreciate your prayers for her. As you can imagine, it is hard on her when we are on the road and she gets one. We have even had to miss a couple of meetings and make trips to the hospital.

The Lord has blessed on the deputation trail and we have been in some great churches and we have had three new churches take us on for support since the first of the year and with this we are currently at 74% of our needed support. We are grateful for every church that has decided to partner with us in reaching the Incarcerated of America and we are honored that you would allow us to be a part of your mission outreach. Please pray that God would continue to help us raise our support that we can do all He has called us to do.

                              There Is Hope,
