January-February Prayer Letter 2014

Dear Pastor, Church Family, and Co-laborer,

“We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,” Col.1:3. In the writings of the Apostle Paul, he often started off by expressing his gratitude for the particular church he was writing to and also by letting them know that he had been praying for them. With that in mind, we would like to start this letter by expressing our appreciation for each one of you who gives to our ministry, as well as those who spend time praying for our family. We could not do what God has called us to do without your faithful support and without each prayer you pray. We pray that God meets all of your needs and blesses all of you with the riches of His grace!

The Lord has blessed our prison meetings in these past couple of months. We started with a wonderful service at Craggy Correctional the first part of the month. During this service two men came forward and trusted Christ as their Saviour! The next week we were able to go back to this facility for a revival. The Lord blessed the revival efforts there and many of the inmates were encouraged in the Lord. From there we went to Yancey County Jail for our regular service at this facility. God has moved in a mighty way at this jail and we have had four young men call on God for salvation in the last couple of months. We have also been going into Buncombe County Jail having a bible study with several of the inmates there. God has blessed and we have seen several trust Christ for salvation. There is a great need at this facility, please pray for them that God would touch their hearts and change their lives. Recently a young man was released from this jail and he had told us that he didn’t have anything or anywhere to go. He said he had nothing but the clothes he had on when he was arrested. His plans were to go to the local homeless shelter after his release and try to get on his feet. We were able to give him some clothes, a sleeping bag, some hygiene items, and some food to help him when he got out. So many people are in need and we have a great desire to reach those that are often times forgotten. Please pray for this young man and the many others like him that have nothing to go home to when they are released.

We are praying and working on getting into more facilities and we would ask you to make this a matter of prayer. We definitely want to do all we can in reaching those that are incarcerated. We are working on opening up two women facilities where Missy and another lady would be going and doing a bible study with the women. We are excited about this opportunity and looking for God to do great things.

God has blessed in the ministry at the public schools. We are currently in three different schools now. We are in school Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday! Often times we are in the school during the day and in prison or jail somewhere of the night. Please help us pray that we can be a light in the public schools and reach many for the cause of Christ. Also, God has placed a burden in our hearts to do more to try and reach the young people in our country. Therefore, we are holding a county wide youth meeting April 25th at our home church. Please make this a matter of prayer. Our plans are to host several youth rallies in the coming months at different churches in an attempt to reach as many young people as we can.

We have a very busy schedule in the coming months and we desire your prayers as we travel and try to reach as many as we can for the Glory of God! Thanks again for your continued support. May the grace of our precious Lord be with you always! God Bless!

          There Is Hope,
