January-Feburary 2018 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastor, Church Family, and Co-laborer,

1 Chronicles 4:10 “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep [me] from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”This verse is our prayer for 2018, we are asking the Lord to enlarge our coasts and allow us to do more for Him than ever before. There is no doubt that we are living in the last days and we should be more eager to serve the Lord realizing that our time is short. If we are going to reach people with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus we must do it while we still have an opportunity. We are excited about what the Lord has for us this year!

January and February have been somewhat of a difficult time for us. As with a lot of people, our family has been hit hard with sickness and at the beginning of January, I passed out while driving and wrecked our van. After a several hours in the ER, the doctors could not find anything wrong. A few days later, I started having some severe chest pains and returned to the hospital where they determined that I wasn’t having a heart attack at that time but wanted to run some more tests. So far, everything has checked out ok but I am still having some pain and discomfort in my chest. The cardiologist seems to think it might be an ulcer or some severe acid reflux. I praise the Lord for his protection through all this. Although this has been a trying experience, I realize that things could have been much worse. I have a few more doctor visits in the coming days and would appreciate your prayers that they find the exact problem soon.

Even with all that’s been going on with my health, we have tried to stay busy for the Lord. The services at both the medium and minimum units at Craggy Correctional have been going really well. Both of these units have a high turnover rate and we see new faces coming out to our services all the time. One of the new faces recently came forward and asked the Lord to save him. Please help us pray that the Lord will continue to bless the ministry here. Many of the men that attend faithfully have a hunger for the word of God and desire to be used of the Lord. It is such a blessing to watch these men grow in their faith and seek the face of the Lord for their lives. We also saw one young man saved during our regular services at Yancey County Jail. We have an upcoming revival at this jail and are excited to see what the Lord is going to do! Please remember this when you pray, we are asking the Lord to move in power and change lives during this meeting.

We have a very busy schedule coming up with prison meetings, revivals, and youth meetings and we are excited about these opportunities that the Lord has given to us. We ask that you would pray for God to bless our efforts and give us souls for our labors! Also, pray for our safety as we travel. Thank you again for all you do. We could not do what God has called us to do without your support and prayers. If anyone would like for us to come by and give an update on what God is doing, please contact us and we would be glad to come back by. May the grace of our precious Lord be with you all.
