July-August 2013 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastor, Church Family, and Co-laborer,

Greetings in the name of our wonderful Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we hope this letter finds each of you enjoying the blessings of God. The Lord truly has been good to us and we are excited once again to be writing you all to share what God has been doing in our lives.

In July, we had a Revival at Craggy Correctional in Asheville NC and the Lord really blessed at this facility. We had a great time visiting with the inmates during the day and having service each night. God moved every night of the meeting there and we had five men trust Christ as their Saviour. We also had one young man saved at Western Youth Institute in Morganton NC and two saved at Yancey County Jail during the month of July. Please keep these men in your prayers as they start to grow in their faith.

In August, God allowed us to go to New Mexico to help my brother in his work planting a church there. While we there, we knocked on over 1300 doors, handed out 31 backpacks to some homeless people, and had two services in their local jail. God really blessed our efforts and we had two homeless people saved and three men in the jail saved as well. One of those homeless people that got saved was a lady named Patty! She had been living on the streets of Albuquerque NM for the last eight years. We gave her a backpack and begin to ask her about her salvation. She admitted that she was a Meth addict and that she was sick of her sin but she didn’t know where to turn. We pointed her to the only one that could help her and she knelt on the side of the street and called on the Lord Jesus for salvation. Well Glory!! Pray for all of these that trusted Christ and all those that heard the Gospel that they might come to Christ before it is too late! We are so thankful for this opportunity to help in my brother’s ministry as well as being able to do what God has called us to do while we were in New Mexico!! We had a great trip and we are grateful to the Lord for allowing us to go. We would like to thank the Rowlands Creek and Grace Tabernacle Baptist Churches for helping out on our trip!

With school starting back we will be starting our third year teaching character lessons in Graham County Schools. Please pray for this part of our ministry that we can be a light in the public schools. We are praying about an open door at a school in another county. We have met with the school officials and have done all the necessary paper work and we are just waiting on the school board to approve our program! Please help us pray that everything goes well and that God would open this door of ministry! If everything goes well we will be in two schools in our area! This is a blessing to be able to go into the public school and try and be a help to these young people.

We would like to once again thank each of you for all you do for our family. We could not do what God has called us to do without all the prayers and financial support each of you provide. May the grace of our precious Lord be with you all!

           There Is Hope,
