Dear Pastor, Church Family, and Co-laborer,
These last couple months have been a trying time for our family. As I mentioned in our last letter, Missy’s father was diagnosed with lung cancer at the end of August. Unfortunately, he lost his short battle with this disease at the first of October. He was a saved man and we are confident he is the presence of the Lord but this has still been very difficult on our family. Missy in particular is having a hard time coping with his loss. Please keep her and all of the family in your prayers in the days ahead! I know God’s grace is sufficient and He has proven this to us in these days of grief! We also would like to thank each one of you that have sent flowers, cards, and offerings during this time. You will never know what that has meant to us!
In spite of all we’ve had going on during this time, we have tried to remain busy in the work of the Lord! Since our last letter, we’ve had two saved at Craggy Correctional and two at the Yancey County Jail. At the end of September, we were allowed the privilege of helping the Concord Baptist Church in Burnsville NC collect and deliver a large container full of supplies to those affected by hurricane Florence. We partnered with the Sonrise Baptist Church in Southport, NC with Pastor Rodney Cox. We unloaded at this church and from there we were able to take items to four other churches in the surrounding area. They then were able to distribute these supplies in their communities!
In the month of October, we were able to have a revival at the Jackson County Jail in Sylva NC. The administration allowed us to hold several joint services with the men and women inmates. God moved in a tremendous way during this meeting and we saw twenty-one inmates call on the Lord for salvation. The staff at the jail were talking about the change in the attitudes of the inmates and how much of a difference they saw in them! What a testimony when the staff is testifying that they have witnessed a change in those that professed Christ! When the Lord moves into the heart of an individual He changes their lives! We closed out the month with a youth revival at the First Baptist Church of Young Harris GA! We had a great time of meeting and the Lord blessed in every service!
Please pray for us as we continue to serve the Lord. We are thankful for your steadfastness in partnering with us, through prayer and financial support, to get the work of the Lord done. We hope that the upcoming holiday season will be full of blessings for each and every one of you.
There Is Hope,
Todd, Missy, Abbey, and Emily
